(UK)

'A joy to encounter. Apart from John Hegley serenading me at The Lighthouse in Cromarty last month, I cannot think when I have laughed more!' — Susan Christie, Inverness

Extremely Bad Dancing to Extremely French Music
is made-up of piano, dance and text solos, edited around strict rhythmic structures.

They span the overtly political, the understated and the oblique, ranging in temperament and emotion from the extremely calm and extremely harmonic, to the extremely loud and the extremely vulgar. There will definitely be extremely bad dancing to extremely French music.

Extremely Bad Dancing to Extremely French Music was created by choreographer Karl Jay-Lewin and the critically acclaimed composer Matteo Fargion. It is performed by Karl and pianist Tim Parkinson.

Karl Jay-Lewin is leading a performance workshop called Dropping Stitches as part of the artist development programme we're running with Groundwork Pro. It's on Monday 13 November from 10am to midday at Chapter. Click here for information.

'Happily, I did see the gloriously funny / sad / lovely / rebellious Karl Jay-Lewin’s show on at the Traverse...'
Morag Deyes, Dance Base
'It’s also got an excellent title – who hasn’t done some private flailing around to Françoise Hardy?'
