• Wrongheaded and In This Moment

Liz Roche Company and Laïla Diallo

(Ireland and UK)

A special double-bill of two wonderful pieces. Liz Roche Company's Wrongheaded and Laïla Diallo's In This Moment.

Courageous and considered, Wrongheaded is a finely crafted dance performance by Liz Roche Company. Part film, part text, part live performance, it delves into ideas and experiences around physical identity and body politics. Venting anger, frustration and gentle hope, Elaine Feeney's poetic text underscores the piece, with film work by Mary Wycherley.

In This Moment
emerged last year from Countless Yellow Chairs, a work Laïla Diallo created with composer Jules Maxwell. Drawing on and transforming the material of that piece, Laïla finds new threads and connections for this compelling solo work. Her exploration touches on notions of change, of memory, memories and the passing of time.

I sat still until the stillness filled with movement.
I went in search of a furious dance.
I tried to weave past and future in the moment.
