Who we are

What personal data do we collect from the public?

When you subscribe to our mailing list we collect your email address and give the option for you to give us your name, organisation and mobile phone number. We also ask if you would like to receive information in Welsh or English. Our mailing list is currently managed through a MailChimp account.

Tickets for most Cardiff Dance Festival events are sold by our partner venues. Where we are selling tickets, or taking bookings, directly we will collect information such as your name and address. We may also ask for information such as access requirements, or the age of your children if you are booking for a participation event. We won't ask for more information than we think is necessary for the event we are running. Where payment is required we do not keep personal financial information longer than is needed in order to process payment. We sometimes use an online provider such as Eventbrite to manage bookings.

Our website collects a certain amount of personal information through cookies. This covers language preference and whether the site's high visibility option has been chosen. Cookies are also used to store information as part of our monitoring of website traffic through Google Analytics.

The companies mentioned in this section all have their own privacy and cookie policies. You will be able to find details of those through their websites.

What do we do with the data?

We use the personal information we collect to help us manage your attendance at events and to send marketing information about our activities, opportunities to support the work we do and, occasionally, about other dance events in Wales.

We also analyse the data we have to better understand how people interact with us. This helps us review and improve our achievement as an organisation. Analysis includes monitoring audience and participation data, and the effectiveness of our communications activity.

We do not share any personal information such as your name and email address with anyone else. We may share anonymised data with organisations such as our venue partners and funding agencies who support our work. None of this data includes any specific information about any individual.

How we store data and keep it secure

Any personal information we hold will generally be stored securely on password protected computers. Where information is held on paper, eg a booking form, it will be kept in a secure office environment.

We do not retain personal information longer than is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it is being processed.
