  • About us

Dance is an amazing art form. One that continues to astonish and inspire us in the work we do.

And Cardiff is home. It's where we live. It's where we seek to make connections between artists we respect and admire, and the people who give this city its heart and its complexity.

We started the festival with the desire to help build a rich ecology for dance. There are many ways to do that, and particular things festivals can be good at. For us, collaboration and partnership have remained the cornerstones of all we have sought to achieve, amplifying what has been possible.

Over the three festivals we've held we've presented some exceptional work by some wonderful artists. They have come from Wales, the UK and many places internationally. You can find information about all of them in our archive section.

We've also been very fortunate to have the support of many partners in the city. This group has grown to include Chapter, g39, Groundwork, National Dance Company Wales, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, University of South Wales and Wales Millennium Centre. We couldn't have done half of what we have without them.

All being well, the next Cardiff Dance Festival will be in autumn 2021. We will do all we can to make it adventurous and celebratory.
